Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  • Adhere to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhere to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures; and report compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Greet patients entering the physician practice.
  • Answer office phones, make appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule when necessary.
  • Check in patients and collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into the electronic system, and verify insurance.
  • Assist in checking out patients and help them with referral processing and scheduling.
  • Collect co-pays and post charges. Handle charge entry and patient balance processing.
  • Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and information about the practice.
  • Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
  • Healthcare management/administration certification preferred.
  • Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Pay
