Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources
  • Adhere to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement
  • Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhere to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures; and report compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Greet patients entering the physician practice
  • Answer office phones, make appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule when necessary
  • Check in patients and collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into electronic system, and verify insurance
  • Assist in checking out patients and help them with referral processing and scheduling
  • Collect co-pays and post charges
  • Process charge entry and patient balances
  • Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and information about the practice
  • Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate degree

Experience

  • Preferred: 6 months in a healthcare setting

Certifications

  • Required: AHA BLS
