Responsibilities
- Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources
- Adhere to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement
- Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhere to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures; and report compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner
- Greet patients entering the physician practice
- Answer office phones, make appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule when necessary
- Check in patients and collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into electronic system, and verify insurance
- Assist in checking out patients and help them with referral processing and scheduling
- Collect co-pays and post charges
- Process charge entry and patient balances
- Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and information about the practice
- Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal
Qualifications
Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Associate degree
Experience
- Preferred: 6 months in a healthcare setting
Certifications
- Required: AHA BLS
