Patient Service Representative (Adult Medicine)
We are currently hiring a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Patient Service Representative to join our Adult Medicine team in the Bronx. This role provides information, support, encouragement, and assistance to patients as they arrive at the health care facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and identify their needs.
- Verify insurance information through managed care website.
- Answer incoming calls and take messages for providers.
- Register patients, check demographics, assign PCP (when applicable), check, and update information as needed.
- Schedule appointments, reschedule no-show appointments, and recall patients for required services.
- Help maintain charts and provide administrative support to the department.
- Provide comfort and empathy to patients while maintaining the waiting room.
- Provide accurate and consistent information to patients and resolve patient concerns.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with clerical/administrative functions is required, ideally in a health care setting.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.
- Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player.
Pay
$19.50 per hour based on 40 hours per week ($40,560 annualized).
Schedule
Candidates must be available to work onsite based in our Southern Boulevard Health Center. Availability required for one of the following schedules:
- Tuesday through Saturday, 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm.
- Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm with rotating Saturdays (with a weekday off).
