Patient Service Rep - PT, Days

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast - Peds Clinic, 25 Doctors Park, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701

About the role

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The PSR ensures that the patient experience is positive and seamless by managing front desk operations and workflows.

Schedule

Part-Time (16 hours per week), Days (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
• Perform basic computer tasks including data entry and word processing.
• Provide excellent customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
• Enter patient information, schedule appointments, and process documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policies and procedures.
• Handle unexpected situations with professionalism and composure.
• Attend and complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training post-hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with a patient-focused and empathetic approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding patient privacy.
• Adaptability to work effectively under pressure.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of applicable medical office experience.
