About the role
The Department 13347 Enterprise Revenue Cycle at Wake Forest Highpoint NC is seeking a Benefits Eligible, Part-time Position.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients arriving for their appointments.
- Maintains patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous service.
- Completes the registration process on walk-in patients, verifying and updating patient information.
- Verifies and updates insurance information as needed.
- Collects patient financial liability and follows Financial Clearance policy for non-urgent services.
- Identifies and refers patients needing financial assistance to the Financial Counselor.
- Performs visit closure, including checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing necessary documents.
- Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements and guidelines.
- Communicates issues related to customer service and process improvements to management.
- Maintains a high accuracy rate and meets productivity standards.
- Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Works collaboratively with others to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Patient access (scheduling, registration, and financial clearance) experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Mathematical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle sensitive information.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ADT software.
Qualifications
- Ability to identify and understand issues and problems.
- Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, and EMTALA rules and regulations.
- Experience with insurance pre-certification requirements.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Pay
$20.40 - $30.60 per hour.
Schedule
Required every other weekend and every other holiday. In addition, pick up shifts as needed.
