Patient Service Coordinator, Pediatric Float Pool - Registry, Nights

About the role

The Patient Service Coordinator provides support to patients, significant others, physicians, care teams, and additional care center staff to facilitate patient care within the patient care units. This role maintains a clean, orderly work environment conducive to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the patient admission process.
• Answers patient intercom and ensures requests are referred to the appropriate staff immediately.
• Arranges patient transportation to outside agencies.
• Coordinates facilities information (e.g., work orders), maintains records, follows up on requests, and relays status updates to staff.
• Assembles, organizes, and maintains patient medical records/charts according to hospital policies and ensures necessary signatures are obtained.
• Inputs patient charges via computer system.
• Assists in the orientation of new staff and cross-covers multiple patient care units during regular shifts as required.
• Runs errands as deemed necessary by Care Center leadership.
• Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of general office experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting.
• Good written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively, use discretion and good judgment, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Must be able to independently and professionally interact with customers, both internal and external to the hospital.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; ability to learn and utilize applicable software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Business courses.

Pay

The pay range for this position reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered, based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and current market data. Compensation at hire will vary based on candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
