Patient Scheduling Representative 4 - TGH Imaging Personal Injury

About the role

This position coordinates, schedules, and reschedules special radiology procedures for patients and referring physician offices at all TGH Imaging locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, schedules, and reschedules patient’s special radiology procedures (Nuclear Medicine, PET, Biopsies, and Research Studies) as requested by patients and referring physician offices for all TGH Imaging locations.
• Demonstrates general knowledge of radiology procedures, CPT, ICD codes, and health insurances.
• Answers questions regarding appointments and imaging during calls with patients and/or physician offices.
• Obtains necessary information (patient demographics and insurance information) and records it in the scheduling system.
• Provides patients with necessary prep instructions before their scheduled exam.
• Reminds patients to bring required items (script, insurance, identification, prior studies when applicable, and any expected payment) to their exam.
• Obtains referral and authorization information when available and records it in the patient’s file in the RIS system.
• Manages a high volume of outbound calls related to interface orders and incoming fax order requests efficiently.
• Scrubs all scripts for diagnosis, date, signatures, and correct exam protocols.
• Communicates with referring offices regarding their patient’s appointment status.
• Functions in a team environment and assists other team members as needed.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Proficient in computer software and excellent typing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving techniques and skills.
• Great phone and phone etiquette abilities.
• Able to communicate clearly to establish cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
• Previous office or call center experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

• Full-time
• Scheduled days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Shift: Day
• Shift hours: 09:30 AM – 06:30 PM
