Patient Scheduler - MU DOC Communication Center

Responsibilities
- Provide patients with information on providers, directions to locations, and special instructions.
- Responsible for multidisciplinary scheduling across multiple service lines.
- Interview callers to obtain full understanding of information being requested.
- Maintain strong working relationship with healthcare team by promoting teamwork and communication center success.
- Monitor calls and distribute work to team and/or sections for completion of requests/needs.
- Responsible for satisfying the customer and maintaining the image of MU Health Care.
- Participate in training and observation of new team members.
- Exhibit proactive problem-solving skills, monitor patient access metrics and standards, and develop and coordinate resolution to access barriers when necessary.
- Request, prepare, and ensure the completeness of the patient medical record and physician orders.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of PC word processing, spreadsheets, and applications such as IDX/GE, Cerner, etc., appropriately within introductory period.
- May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet at least four of the following five criteria:
- 90% work in designated call centers.
- Cover 5 or more departments 90% of the time.
- Complete 5,000+ monthly phone volumes.
- Work on 5 or more clinic location/areas.
- Must be 6 or more FTE working in the designated call center.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
- One (1) year of related experience in a medical office, hospital, medical call center, or similar customer service environment. Education may be used in lieu of work experience.

- Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Pay
Base pay range: $16.68 - $26.31 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work Arrangement: Onsite with future opportunity to work remotely once trained.
