Patient Safety Technician
About the role
The Patient Safety Technician plays a critical role in supporting patient safety and care delivery through centralized monitoring and observation. This position is responsible for continuous observation of cardiac telemetry for rhythm abnormalities, video monitoring for patient safety, and supporting virtual nursing workflows across HealthPartners.
Responsibilities
- Continuous observation of cardiac telemetry for rhythm abnormalities
- Video monitoring for patient safety
- Supporting virtual nursing workflows
- Accurately identifying and interpreting arrhythmias
- Promptly escalating changes to the bedside teams
- Precisely documenting rhythm interpretations and alarm events
- Safeguarding lead placement accuracy
- Collaborating closely with clinical staff to maintain seamless communication and timely intervention
- Supporting onboarding of new team members
- Modeling effective, respectful communication in all interactions
Requirements
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant and/or Emergency Room Technician
- Completion of one clinical rotation in an RN or LPN program within one year
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) role with at least 1 year of experience in an EMS based agency
- Certification from an Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) education class
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Nursing assistant certification preferred
- Proficiency using Electronic Health Record (EPIC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay
This position is offered at a rate of .6 (24 hours per week) or .75 (30 hours per week).
Schedule
The position is scheduled to work Days (7am-3:30pm), requiring every other weekend and holiday. Some positions may work every third weekend 12-hour days (7am-7:30pm) and holidays instead.
