Patient Safety Technician, 6B/Cardiac Telemetry (Per-Diem)

About the role

The Patient Safety Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and is an active member of the health care team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Safety Technician performs a variety of routine duties to include feeding, dressing, or toileting, observing changes in the status of patients, maintaining the safety of patients who are confused, at high risk for falls, or require one‑to‑one observation, providing a clean and safe environment, assisting with department tasks as needed, transporting patients, unit secretary tasks, and other related duties. Patient Safety Technicians must be empathetic and have good communication skills to care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Feed, dress, and assist with toileting for patients.
• Observe and report changes in patient status.
• Maintain safety for confused patients, those at high fall risk, or requiring one‑to‑one observation.
• Provide a clean and safe environment on the unit.
• Assist with departmental tasks as needed.
• Transport patients between locations.
• Perform unit secretary duties.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• BLS certification (required).
