About the Role
This position involves designing, developing, and implementing proactive patient safety and risk management activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and improve patient care.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and disseminating information on regulatory standards from agencies like TJC, DPH, and CMS.
- Identifying risk events and near-misses through incident reports, and facilitating their review.
- Participating in morbidity and mortality conferences and patient safety discussions.
- Conducting detailed analyses of risk events using tools like Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Recommending and assisting with process improvements and action plans with clinical staff and leadership.
- Supporting regulatory readiness, responding to inquiries, and facilitating disclosures and peer support.
- Providing consultation on patient safety issues and maintaining documentation for external reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred.
- Registered Nurse license with 5-8 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Epic, and safety reporting software.
Skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data, produce detailed reports, and collaborate effectively across teams.
