Patient Safety Risk Manager, RN

About the Role

This position involves designing, developing, and implementing proactive patient safety and risk management activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and disseminating information on regulatory standards from agencies like TJC, DPH, and CMS.
• Identifying risk events and near-misses through incident reports, and facilitating their review.
• Participating in morbidity and mortality conferences and patient safety discussions.
• Conducting detailed analyses of risk events using tools like Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• Recommending and assisting with process improvements and action plans with clinical staff and leadership.
• Supporting regulatory readiness, responding to inquiries, and facilitating disclosures and peer support.
• Providing consultation on patient safety issues and maintaining documentation for external reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred.
• Registered Nurse license with 5-8 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Epic, and safety reporting software.
