Patient Safety Program Manager

About the Role

As a Quality Patient Safety Professional, you will develop, implement, and monitor programs to enhance patient safety and drive continuous quality improvement. You will conduct risk assessments, analyze adverse events, identify root causes, and recommend evidence-based strategies. You will collaborate with clinical teams and regulators, providing education and guidance on best practices to foster a culture of safety and achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

You will assist in the design, planning, implementation, and coordination of Quality Management, Patient Safety, and Performance Improvement activities for assigned hospital and medical staff departments, committees, divisions, service lines, and functions. This includes proactively coordinating and facilitating performance improvement teams for key initiatives such as clinical quality improvement, patient safety and risk reduction, patient experience, efficiency, FMEAs, root cause analyses, and medical staff improvement (e.g., case review for peer review, OPPE, FPPE).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CMS HIQRP/HOQRP, TJC, Leapfrog, and other regulatory data collection and reporting of process and outcome measures.
• Facilitate the development and implementation of data collection tools and processes, including identifying data elements, performing data collection and abstraction, and validating data prior to submission or report publication.
• Facilitate meetings, present data and reports, identify key findings, and assist with action plans and implementation.
• Maintain current knowledge of accreditation and licensing requirements and serve as a resource to staff on these regulations to improve outcomes and ensure compliance.
• Perform case reviews for medical staff peer review and medical and/or surgical registry abstraction.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• One (1) year of healthcare-related quality management/performance improvement experience (e.g., chart audit, PI team member).
• Registered Nurse (TX license, upon hire) or Pharmacist (TX license, upon hire) or certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Quality Management, or equivalent within 24 months of hire.

Pay

$32.30 - $48.05 per hour.
