Patient Safety Observer - Per Diem - Night

Role Overview: Provides patient safety and injury prevention through continual visual and digital remote monitoring and/or one-on-one bedside supervision under RN oversight. Key Responsibilities: Completes hourly patient rounds, identifies and reports hazards, assists with activities of daily living as delegated, maintains accurate documentation in electronic records, and communicates observations with the clinical team. Performs continuous surveillance of up to twelve patients via monitors, provides verbal redirection for at-risk behaviors, and follows safety protocols. Participates in patient safety reporting and collaborates with the healthcare team for effective patient care. Qualifications & Skills: High School diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, basic computer skills, and ability to communicate effectively in English. Critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to work under stress, and flexibility are essential. Prior healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred but not required. Physical & Working Conditions: Requires physical activities such as bending, stooping, keyboarding, reaching, and walking. Must have good hearing, vision, and speech capabilities. Night shifts are scheduled. The role demands high focus, multitasking, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies.
