Patient Safety Observer - Emergency Department - Evening Per-diem

Role Overview: The Patient Safety Observer monitors patients in the Emergency Department to ensure their safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities Continuously observe assigned patients via bedside or video systems.Maintain constant visual supervision to prevent at-risk behaviors.Verbally redirect patients and communicate with staff regarding patient needs or emergencies.Participate in shift handoffs, report hazards, and collaborate with healthcare team.Support patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality while providing compassionate supervision. Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or GED required.Completion of Care Companion class and CPR/BLS certification.Effective communication, basic arithmetic, and computer proficiency.Patience, attentiveness, ability to respond quickly, and multitasking skills. Additional Requirements: Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods, with a focus on safety and emergency response. Must be available to work assigned shifts.
