Responsibilities

  • Investigates patient safety issues within the organization;
  • leads or facilitates Root Cause Analysis, Focused Reviews, and Intense Analysis;
  • Ensure timely identification of trends and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintains compliance with audits and monitoring as defined in action plans;
  • Reviews and closes all Safety Events reported in the event reporting system,
  • Verifies all Safety Events are routed to the appropriate department leaders for review;
  • notifies Risk Management of potential risk issues;
  • Lead initiatives focused on high reliability, zero harm, and culture of safety.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a patient care related field.
  • Required: 5+ years of combined experience in clinical practice and progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • PREFERRED: 2 years of experience in Patient Safety, Quality, Risk Management, or healthcare operations.
  • Required: CPPS Certification or eligible to take the exam within one year of employment
