About the role
Remote position supporting the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory departments by ensuring accurate data, information, and forms are obtained and entered into appropriate systems. Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff, and external agencies in patient registration, admission, and scheduling.
Schedule
- Part time: 20 hours per week
- Two 10-hour day shifts per week
- No weekends
- Remote, but must be local to the Cincinnati Metro area
- Must be available for on-site training for up to 4 weeks
Pay
- Expected starting pay range: $18.16 - $22.25
- Starting pay based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates
- Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) may apply
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission and scheduling
- Investigates and resolves customer requests, questions or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures
- Contacts outside representatives to request information or assistance in resolving problems
- Supports the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring that the necessary data, information and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the appropriate system
- Talks to management to explain system errors or to recommend changes to the system
- Completes and authenticates all documents and questionnaires that ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, CMS, ODH)
- Ensures patient safety by identifying the correct patient, identifying special needs, and preparing isolation precautions for patients who have Infectious Disease indicators
- Maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage
- Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred
- Administrative experience in a healthcare environment including scheduling and/or registration experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience using Epic
