Responsibilities

  • Intake of new patients and scheduling of appointments
  • Updating Health Insurance plans and making “cases” as needed
  • Checking dental managed care insurance to ensure Advantage Care is the dental home
  • Answering phones and triaging calls in phone notes
  • Inputting financial information to determine Sliding Fee
  • Collecting, posting payments, and ordering supplies for health center
  • Entering/update demographic information in EMR and obtaining photographs for EMR registration panel
  • Greeting patients professionally and ensuring they sign in and are marked as arrived on schedule
  • Obtaining signed documents (e.g., consents, financial, advance directives, etc.) from patient and scanning medical records
  • Determining the level in Sliding Fee Scale and completing purchase requisitions
  • Scanning documents, picking up and distributing mail, and clearing/monitoring copier, shredder, and fax folder
  • Answering phone calls, documenting necessary information in telephone notes, and faxing EMR documents as needed
  • Receiving payments by cash, charge/check, and posting payments
  • Checking all front-end portal folders and receiving incoming calls from patients to schedule appointments
  • Confirming all new patient appointments with personal phone calls
  • Ensuring the appointment master scheduler is accurately maintained and updated as necessary
  • Blocking vacation/personal/meeting/etc. dates/times in provider appointment schedules
  • Retrieving dental history from dental insurance website and noting completed dental procedures with date of service and forwarding to dental staff
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
