Responsibilities
- Intake of new patients and scheduling of appointments
- Updating Health Insurance plans and making “cases” as needed
- Checking dental managed care insurance to ensure Advantage Care is the dental home
- Answering phones and triaging calls in phone notes
- Inputting financial information to determine Sliding Fee
- Collecting, posting payments, and ordering supplies for health center
- Entering/update demographic information in EMR and obtaining photographs for EMR registration panel
- Greeting patients professionally and ensuring they sign in and are marked as arrived on schedule
- Obtaining signed documents (e.g., consents, financial, advance directives, etc.) from patient and scanning medical records
- Determining the level in Sliding Fee Scale and completing purchase requisitions
- Scanning documents, picking up and distributing mail, and clearing/monitoring copier, shredder, and fax folder
- Answering phone calls, documenting necessary information in telephone notes, and faxing EMR documents as needed
- Receiving payments by cash, charge/check, and posting payments
- Checking all front-end portal folders and receiving incoming calls from patients to schedule appointments
- Confirming all new patient appointments with personal phone calls
- Ensuring the appointment master scheduler is accurately maintained and updated as necessary
- Blocking vacation/personal/meeting/etc. dates/times in provider appointment schedules
- Retrieving dental history from dental insurance website and noting completed dental procedures with date of service and forwarding to dental staff
- Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
