Patient Relations Rep II - Front Office - FPG Lorraine Corners, Lakewood Ranch
About the role
The Patient Relations Rep II is responsible for patient related activities within the office including patient scheduling, patient check-in, checkout, and follow up activities/communications. This position acts as a liaison between the physician, patient, the office and insurance company. Handles collections of monies from patient at time of checkout. Meets all compliance standards. Observes strict confidentiality in dealing with patients and patient information.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and insurance companies.
- Handle patient scheduling and check-in/check-out processes.
- Communicate with patients regarding their appointments and insurance coverage.
- Collect payments from patients at the time of checkout.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Conduct daily interactions in a manner that reflects a positive organizational attitude and effectively models the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Preferred Qualifications
- Some college or vocational training.
- One (1) year of experience in a physician office.
- Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Professional, neat appearance with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of third-party payers.
Education
High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate. A copy or photo of your High School Diploma or GED is required prior to start - or transcripts showing date of completion/graduation is collected during our onboarding process.
