Patient Relations Advocate

The Patient Relations Advocate serves the patients, families, and staff of the cancer center by providing guidance and support with the goal of building and maintaining a high-quality patient experience. This position is the cancer center resource for patients, families, guests, and staff for interpretation and education of patient rights and responsibilities. This role functions in compliance with cancer center policy and CMS and Joint Commission guidelines as they pertain to the receipt, documentation, and response to patient complaints and grievances.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and openly.
- Resolve complaints, grievances, and other official requests and correspondence.
- Respond to requests by patients, faculty, staff, and support personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated professional success in conflict resolution, mediation, and/or crisis communication and resolution.
- Fluent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with medical scheduling software.
- Excellent soft skills and interpersonal skills.
Notary Public Certification preferred but not required.
Pay
Salary Range: $19.65 - $29.94. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
