About the role
Under general supervision, you'll master all the ins and outs of patient registration while keeping things running smoothly and efficiently at our West Bloomfield location on a contingent, day-shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Welcome with Warmth: Be the friendly face and voice that sets the tone for every patient interaction—whether it's face-to-face check-ins, phone calls, or preregistration.
- Registration & Insurance Champion: Navigate patient registration like a pro, keeping records up-to-date and accurate. Confirm insurance eligibility, verify coverage details, and handle cash collections with confidence and care.
- Customer Service Superstar: Respond to inquiries from callers and customers with enthusiasm and expertise. Advocate passionately on their behalf to ensure their needs are met and they feel heard and supported.
- Build Loyalty & Anticipate Needs: Go the extra mile by anticipating what patients need before they ask. Your proactive approach and genuine care will instill loyalty and create positive experiences that keep people coming back.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.
- EPIC training/experience preferred.
- Insurance payor systems experience preferred.
- ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.
- Must be willing and able to instruct others.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
