Patient Registration Float Pool Team - East Evening/Overnight

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service throughout Inova Health System by identifying and fulfilling customer and departmental needs. The role fills vacancies within clinical departments and travels to hospitals and outpatient practices in Alexandria, Mount Vernon, Springfield, and Oakville.

Schedule

Full-time, evening/overnight shifts: 3pm – 11:30pm or 11pm – 7:30am.

Responsibilities

• Supports scheduling by conducting pre-service activities such as insurance verification and submission
• Troubleshoots individual admission issues in collaboration with other departments and/or team members
• Explains insurance benefits and patient liability using appropriate communication methods/styles
• Identifies and communicates payroll authorization and referral requirements
• Manages assigned work queues to ensure errors are corrected
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of healthcare patient access experience, or 2 years of customer service
• 2 years of registration or healthcare revenue cycle experience
• 6 months of outpatient registration experience
• 6 months of ED registration experience
