Patient Registrar

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Registrar position involves timely and accurate patient registration, interviewing patients for account information, verifying insurance coverage, and processing patient charts.

• Interview patients at workstations or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Interview patients for all pertinent account information and verify insurance coverage.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Absorb necessary signatures for treatment, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services.
• Obtain copies of necessary identification and insurance cards.
• Understand/explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of account.

Qualifications

One year of related experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
