Patient Placement Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Placement Coordinator works under the general direction of the ACNO, collaborating with Admitting, the Emergency Department (ED), and inpatient nursing leadership to manage patient flow and assign patients to appropriate beds. This role involves managing phone calls, utilizing hospital computer systems, and using web-based tools to facilitate communication and capacity management.

Responsibilities

• Manage phone calls related to patient placement and flow
• Utilize hospital computer systems to support patient throughput
• Collaborate with patients, families, and staff from all admission sources
• Run daily reports to support operational planning
• Reconcile multiple systems to confirm accurate placement data
• Support the Patient Care Services Scheduling Coordinator as needed
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of state-mandated rules and regulations
• Provide support to the Patient Care Services Scheduling Coordinator as required
• Function in this role on off shifts, holidays, and weekends

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Associates degree in a related field
• Medical Terminology required

• Knowledge of state-mandated rules and regulations
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
• Previous experience with hospital staffing preferred

Qualifications

Pay

$23.71-$36.14 per hour

Schedule

10:00am-8:30pm, every other weekend and every other holiday, 30 weekly hours
