Patient Placement Coordinator
About the role
The Patient Placement Coordinator has the primary responsibility of reviewing and assigning bed placements for patients requiring admission to units within an acute care ministry within Providence Oregon. This includes admissions from emergency departments, direct admissions, future admissions, inter-unit transfers, and surgical placements. Chart review and/or calls to clarify bed criteria will be performed to assure appropriate bed placement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing, physicians, EVS, transportation, and others to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flow.
- Works diligently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, providing superior communication, customer service and service recovery.
- Utilizes good judgment and independent thinking that meets or exceeds the expectations of physicians, patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff members.
- Has responsibility for excellent communication, bed control assignments, and the coordination of transportation scheduling in an interdisciplinary, professional manner.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent education/experience
- 1 year of Healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare field
- Bed placement experience
- Registrar experience

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
This is a benefited part-time position with a day schedule.
