Patient Placement Coordinator
Job Summary
You will track patient placement needs and availability, assign beds across hospital departments, and coordinate with nursing and medical staff to optimize patient flow.
Responsibilities
- Expertly assign beds based on existing policies and collaborate with clinical teams.
- Monitor admissions, transfers, and discharges to maximize bed utilization and resolve bottlenecks.
- Communicate bed changes to all involved departments and maintain accurate automated systems.
- Determine safe and appropriate patient bed assignments based on admission criteria and documented diagnosis.
- Prioritize bed placement using age-specific requirements, diagnosis, and patient condition.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for patient admissions and internal transfers.
- Accurately process admissions, transfers, and discharges in the clinical information system.
- Maintain patient status by making changes as necessary and updating multiple systems.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year as a Coordinator, Patient Access or Patient Placement in a hospital or healthcare setting

$18.00 - $24.35 /hour
