Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment for patients on One-to-One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight, or Patient Safety.
  • Ensure patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Work in situations with isolation precautions.
  • Conduct frequent checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
  • Provide direction to patients to prevent falls or wandering.
  • Record and document patient behavior.
  • Travel with patients when needed.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement, including the ability to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Pay

The starting rate of pay is $17.42 per hour. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package. The base compensation may vary based on factors including labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
