Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment for patients on One-to-One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight, or Patient Safety.
- Ensure patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Conduct frequent checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
- Provide direction to patients to prevent falls or wandering.
- Record and document patient behavior.
- Travel with patients when needed.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement, including the ability to stand for periods of time.
- Ability to work in situations with isolation precautions.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
Skills
Preferred:
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student.
Pay
The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The starting rate of pay is $17.42 per hour. Posted rates may vary based on several non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
Certain positions may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
