Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment for patients on One-to-One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight, or Patient Safety.
- Ensure the safety of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Conduct frequent checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
- Provide direction to patients to prevent falls or wandering.
- Record and document patient behavior.
- Travel with patients when needed.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement, including the ability to stand for periods of time.
- Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student.
Pay
The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The starting rate of pay is $17.42 per hour. Posted rates may vary based on labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
