Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment for patients on One-to-One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight, or Patient Safety.
  • Ensure patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Work in situations involving isolation precautions.
  • Conduct frequent checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
  • Provide direction to patients to prevent falls or wandering.
  • Record and document patient behavior.
  • Travel with patients when needed.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement, including standing for periods of time.
  • Ability to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Pay

The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The starting rate of pay is $17.42 per hour. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer, and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate.

Base compensation may vary based on non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to: labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.

Certain positions may be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
