Patient Navigator - Prior Auth

Job Summary

The department will initially focus on inpatient surgery prior authorization to kick off the team. In this full-time position, you will work alongside your current team of navigators to help standardize and support an outstanding patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the patient navigators' support to provide authorization and, in some cases, scheduling.
• Utilize Office 365 products, Intergy, insurance carrier sites, review prior authorizations, and communicate with staff when needed.
• Sit at a desk without interruption for extended periods of time may seem unnatural.

Requirements

• Recall information quickly.
• Have prior auth experience and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Work in-house at the West, Des Moines, or Ankeny Offices.
• Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate calmly with patients and technicians.
• Display a high-level of professionalism when interacting with patients and clinical staff members.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time while staying organized.
• PRACTICE THE ART OF LISTENING, ASKING CLARIFYING QUESTIONS AND AVOIDING INTERRUPTING.
• Experience in patient care coordination.
• Ensures patients receive timely care, promotes a reliable healthcare environment, and supports the overall efficiency of the team by being dependable.
