Patient Monitor Observer
Job Summary
The Monitor Tech provides support services. Some duties include:
- basic computer keyboarding skills
- tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate
- calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed
- stocking supplies
- monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs
- following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms
- interpreting alarms and following through with appropriate communication as needed
Qualifications
- A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies is preferred.
