Patient Greeter- Main

General Summary

The Patient Greeter welcomes and assists patients, their families and visitors entering the clinics. Employees and volunteers working in this capacity answer questions, provide information and direct people to the clinic location they need, thus creating an atmosphere in the clinic that is welcoming, caring and Como Familia.

Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival

• Ascertains patients’ and or visitors’ needs and directs them accordingly
• Aids patients and visitors by obtaining wheelchairs, or other services as needed
• Aids patients who require minimal physical assistance with entering or exiting vehicles
• Transports patients safely from the following positions: sitting to standing or laying down, from standing to sitting. Pushing/pulling patients in wheelchairs

• Maintains strict confidentiality

Work Environment

• Depending upon the area assigned, may be 100% clinical setting or office setting in a clinical environment
• Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment
• On-site work outside
• Works in conditions of heat, cold, wet, dust, rain

Mental / Physical Requirements

• Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 15 lbs. without assistance
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to work efficiently under pressure
