About the role
The Patient Experience Representative enhances the inpatient experience by assisting clinical caregivers with non-clinical tasks, monitoring patient satisfaction, and addressing concerns in real time.
Responsibilities
- Assist clinical caregivers with non-clinical tasks in a hospital inpatient setting.
- Monitor patients for non-clinical satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
- Maintain appropriate patient and professional boundaries, including handling physical touch, spiritual conversations, prayer, and end-of-life situations.
- Advocate for patient needs in a hospital environment.
- Utilize strong problem-solving, creative-thinking, customer service, and communication skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Adapt to changing schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Outgoing and comfortable interacting with diverse patients and personalities.
- Culturally sensitive and respectful of differences in culture, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and abilities.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to multitask.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Two years of customer service experience in healthcare preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional lifting or carrying of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds).
- Requires extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Requires visual acuity, depth perception, and hand/finger dexterity for reading and operating computers/office equipment.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases; use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
