HybridInternship

About the role

The Patient Engagement and Professional Relations team is seeking an intern to support efforts to bring the patient voice to Genmab colleagues and relevant internal and external stakeholder groups. This internship will provide hands-on experience in how a biopharmaceutical company partners with patient and professional organizations and incorporates patient insights across oncology development and commercialization.

At Genmab, interns don’t just learn about the work — they help move it forward. The internship program provides meaningful, hands-on experience through real projects that directly support teams, business priorities, and the mission to transform the lives of people with cancer and other serious diseases. From day one, interns are welcomed as part of the team and given opportunities to contribute, collaborate, and make an impact, while learning from talented colleagues and senior leaders, building new skills, expanding their professional network, and gaining exposure to innovative work across Genmab.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of patient organizations and professional societies and contribute to projects supporting areas of mutual interest that advance care for people diagnosed with and living with cancer.
  • Build knowledge of cancers Genmab is investigating, including screening and diagnosis challenges, treatment and supportive care needs, survivorship, health disparities, and multidisciplinary care.
  • Help plan and coordinate internal patient programs and educational forums with advocacy and professional groups, including logistics, materials, and follow-up summaries.
  • Support internal patient advisory councils and/or tumor-area advisory forums by drafting agendas, documenting discussions, and tracking action items.
  • Prepare background materials and support meeting logistics for strategic engagements with patient and professional organizations at major oncology and tumor-specific congresses.
  • Contribute to internal guidance, playbooks, and best practices that support appropriate and compliant engagement with patient and professional organizations.
  • Support tracking of deliverables, budgets, and impact for assigned initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, and Clinical Development to understand how patient insights inform company plans.
  • Own a defined summer capstone project and present findings and recommendations to the team at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program (Master’s or PhD) or professional program (PharmD, NP, PA, MD, or MSN).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research and patient insights into clear, actionable summaries.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and a commitment to ethics, compliance, and transparency.

Preferred qualifications

  • Interest in oncology, patient advocacy, medical affairs, health policy, or the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior patient-facing, community outreach, volunteer, or leadership experience, such as involvement with student organizations, health fairs, or advocacy activities.
  • Familiarity with healthcare delivery, access considerations, and health equity topics relevant to oncology.
  • Interest in patient empowerment, social impact, and improving outcomes for people living with cancer.

Schedule and location

Internships will take place over 10 weeks from June – August 2027. This role will be based in Princeton, NJ and operate on a required hybrid schedule — 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week. This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship at the time of the application or in the future.
