About the role
We are currently hiring for a Patient Coordinator at our Women's Aventura facility. This is a part-time position with the following hours: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
The Patient Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience, ensuring documentation and patient records are prepared and organized, and helping patients clearly understand what to expect during and after their appointment.
Responsibilities
- Greets and assists patients, customers, and visitors in person and over the phone.
- Performs patient registration in various systems.
- Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
- May verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
- Patient Assistance:
- May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, including medical history.
- May transport patients to/from the exam room.
- May assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table.
- May provide patients with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
- Work Area & Supply Preparation:
- In the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked.
- Documentation:
- Ensures accuracy of patient records.
- May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.
- May prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers.
- Ensures accurate documentation of patient visits in various electronic systems and on written documents.
- May assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer.
- Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire. For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.
- As applicable, valid state driver's license required.
- Ability to work at several locations required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
- The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

Qualifications
- Preferred: Six months of customer service or related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
