Shea Medical Center – Medical/Surgical Unit (3F-Surgical Oncology)

About the role

This is a full-time night-shift position working three 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Self-scheduling is available for shift and weekend coverage; scheduled workdays vary and there are no fixed days. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. Evening and night shift differentials are offered.

Responsibilities

Provides patient-related care tasks based on principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in the unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregivers and maintains accurate medical record documentation.

  • Provides and collaborates in direct patient care services under the direct supervision of a licensed caregiver, including personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan.
  • Assists, observes, and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregivers and documents care delivered.
  • Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED – Required
  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting within the last year – Required
  • 6 months of acute care experience – Preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Preferred
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification – Preferred
