Patient Care Technician - South Florida Baptist Hospital - Full Time, Day Shift and Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Affords assistance to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care as directed by the RN.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year of CNA work experience in a skilled nursing facility; or a minimum of 6 months of PCT (Patient Care Tech)/CNA work experience in a hospital; or in lieu of experience may have completed approved CNA school (with clinicals); or nursing student with completion of Nursing Fundamentals Extended new hire training and new hire department orientation is available for new Florida licensed CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant with no experience yet.
• High School Diploma, GED or Certificate of Completion (minimum).
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• Ability to work Full time hours is a plus!

Qualifications

• 6 months acute care experience as a patient caregiver
• 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience as a patient caregiver
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program
• Completion of a Baycare approved Nurse Assistant/PCT program--this program must include a minimum of 40 hours hands-on patient care experience outside of a lab setting

Skills

• Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
