Patient Care Technician - Resource Team - Evening and Night Shifts

About the role

The position is a Per Diem Patient Care Tech located in Evanston and Skokie, Illinois. The commitment level can range from 32-72 hours to 111-144 hours per 6-week schedule.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Absorb vital signs (including manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Implement a patient-specific care plan
• Participate in other activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Contribute positively to safety outcomes and promote high-quality patient experience
• Utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation. In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient PCT medical/surgical setting is unique or preferred

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in an emergency situation

Pay

The hourly pay range is $18.84 - $27.32, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience.

Per Diem Commitment Level: Per Diem Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Per Diem Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Per Diem Level 3: 111-144 hrs./ per 6-week schedule
