Patient Care Technician - Night Shift

Role: Patient Care Technician responsible for delivering direct patient care, assisting with procedures, and supporting nursing staff on a medical-surgical unit. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living, physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies.Perform core nursing assistant duties such as vital signs, specimen collection, and Foley care, and at least four specialized tasks like phlebotomy, EKG, or IV removal.Report equipment issues, communicate effectively with departments, and maintain professional relationships.Provide patient and family education under RN supervision and support safety protocols.Document accurately in medical records and contribute to unit activities like responding to call lights and transporting patients.Develop and maintain competency in advanced skills including phlebotomy, EKG, and catheter removal, based on department needs. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED.Healthcare experience: 1 year, or 6 months as a CNA/PCT with competency, or enrollment in health sciences programs.Successful completion of PCT training and eRecord training.Preferred: EMT or Paramedic certification or ongoing training.Certifications: CPR (required within 30 days), ACLS preferred, BLS or CPR.Strong communication, teamwork, cultural awareness, and safety adherence necessary.
