PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN PRN DAYS

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports the delivery of care to operative patients in the Operating Room (OR), performing tasks such as transportation, inventory management, restocking supplies, administrative support, and assisting the Registered Nurse and patients.

Responsibilities

• Supports the OR staff by transporting patients, equipment, and supplies.
• Restocks and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment in the OR.
• Assists with administrative tasks, including documentation and record-keeping.
• Cleans and prepares the OR for patient care.
• Aids the Registered Nurse and patients during surgical procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Must be enrolled in a nursing program or have completed nursing fundamental courses.
• Must submit transcripts to the department manager at least twice per calendar year.
• Must provide authorization to test (ATT-NCLEX RN or ATT-NCLEX PN) and pass the test within 90 days of graduating from the nursing program.

• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients and equipment.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of operating room procedures and protocols.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
