About the Role
The Physical Therapy Technician assists licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with patient care, clinic operations, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient experiences in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient treatment sessions under their direction.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for patient use.
- Guide patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities.
- Clean and sanitize treatment rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Monitor patient comfort and report concerns to the therapy team.
- Maintain adequate supplies and organize equipment.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and patient check-in/check-out as needed.
- Complete documentation and administrative tasks accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist patients throughout the workday.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a physical therapy, healthcare, fitness, athletic training, or customer service setting.
- Interest in pursuing a career in physical therapy, healthcare, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field.
