About the role

The Patient Care Technician in the Pulse Heart Institute Float Pool is an ideal opportunity for those seeking a dynamic and comprehensive role within our healthcare system. By covering nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions, you will support exceptional patient health outcomes. As a float pool employee, you will travel between locations, offering variety in facilities and staff. This role allows you to hone clerical and communication skills, develop age-appropriate nursing care expertise, and collaborate to support patient care and services.

FTE: 0.6, Shift: Nights, Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
  • Assist in basic nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions.
  • Apply strong interpersonal skills when providing care for patients across a diverse spectrum of ethnic and social groups.
  • Collaborate with healthcare practitioners or registered nurses for comprehensive quality care.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Previous Health Unit Coordinator experience preferred.

Pay

The pay scale is $23.61 - $39.01 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on the applicant’s years of experience.
