Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

About the Role

Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include:

  • Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
  • Observing patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
  • Obtaining and recording patients' vital signs and collecting specimens for lab tests.
  • Providing basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
  • Measuring and recording patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
  • Assisting patients with range of motion and drawing blood.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
