Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Take patient history, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy, complete lab paperwork, conduct point-of-care testing, schedule ancillary care, assist providers with exams and testing, maintain confidentiality, ensure equipment is in working order, log procedures, document patient history, and physical examination findings.
• Reception: Greet patients, complete registration, explain insurance options, answer and triage phone calls, collect patient responsibility, print, scan, and fax reports, and clean the clinic.
• Occupational Medicine: Ensure accurate completion and timely scanning of occupational medicine documentation, complete DOT and non-DOT physicals, vision and audio testing, pulmonary function testing, and audiograms.

Requirements

• Minimum 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role, or equivalent education/certification in a related healthcare specialty.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Must have computer skills to register patients on the computer in a timely manner, including use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Must have CPR certification and be able to complete and maintain it.
• Must have excellent listening and note-taking skills, strong communication skills, and detail-oriented abilities.
• Must be friendly and customer service oriented.
• Must be capable of managing high call and patient volume.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred EMT Basic certification, Medical Assistant certification from one of the following programs: Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcare Association, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Technologists, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists.

Starting salary at $20.00 per hour.
