Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Take patient history, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy, complete lab paperwork, conduct point-of-care testing, schedule ancillary care, assist providers with exams and testing, maintain confidentiality, ensure equipment is in working order, log procedures, document patient history, and physical examination findings.
• Reception: Greet patients, complete registration, explain insurance options, answer and triage phone calls, collect patient responsibility, print, scan, and fax reports, and clean the clinic.
• Occupational Medicine: Ensure accurate completion and timely scanning of occupational medicine documentation, complete DOT and non-DOT physicals, vision and audio testing, pulmonary function testing, and audiograms.

Requirements

• Minimum 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; or equivalent education/certification in a related healthcare specialty.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify team leader.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Computer knowledge and skills, including registering patients on the computer in a timely manner using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Complete and maintain CPR certification.
• Excellent listening and note-taking skills.
• Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling, and verbal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with proven ability to work accurately under conditions requiring accuracy.
• Capable of working well on a team and friendly and customer service oriented.
• Manage high call and patient volume.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred EMT Basic certification, Medical Assistant certification through one of the following programs: Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcare Association, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Technologists, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists.

Starting at $19.00 per hour.
