Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Take patient history, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy, complete lab paperwork, conduct point of care testing, schedule ancillary care, assist providers with exams, and document patient information.
  • Reception: Greet patients, complete registration, explain insurance options, answer phone calls, collect patient responsibility, print, scan, and fax reports, and maintain clinic cleanliness.
  • Occupational Medicine: Ensure accurate completion of occupational medicine documentation, complete DOT and non-DOT physicals, conduct drug screens, alcohol tests, hair collections, pulmonary function tests, vision and audio testing, and audiograms.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; or equivalent education/certification in a related healthcare specialty.
  • Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify the team leader.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
  • Computer knowledge and skills, including registering patients on the EMR system in a timely manner.
  • Complete and maintain CPR certification.
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and verbal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Capable of managing high call and patient volume.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred EMT Basic certification, Medical Assistant certification from CCMA, CMA, or RMA programs.
