About the Role
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) supports patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, performing direct and indirect patient care activities to ensure a safe and efficient care environment. This role contributes to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures, while ensuring a positive patient experience. The position operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling.
Additional career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for PCTs based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.
Schedule
- 24 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- Every third weekend
- Rotating holidays
Responsibilities
- Perform specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect patient care activities.
- Execute selected interventions and activities contributing to comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure a safe and efficient care environment in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- No prior experience required; on-site training provided.
- Successful completion of PCT-specific HHC orientation.
- Certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
- Current certified BLS Provider credential from the AHA.
- Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.
