Fresenius Medical Care is seeking Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to support and collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs) in providing dialysis treatment to several patients at a time. This role involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening clinics early in the morning.

Job Description

Patient Care Technicians at Fresenius Medical Care support the multidisciplinary team by preparing and operating hemodialysis machines, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and maintaining patient care records. Key responsibilities include:

• Educating patients on dialysis adequacy measures and disease processes.
• Welcome and assess patients, evaluating vascular access and administering heparin.
• Initiating and monitoring dialysis treatments, managing intradialytic problems, and documenting patient responses.
• Ensuring proper disposal of equipment and supplies, and reporting any significant changes in patient condition.
• Training and supporting other direct patient care staff.

Success Profile

A successful PCT should have prior customer service, healthcare, and direct patient care experience. They must be passionate about building deep relationships with patients and improving their quality of life. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
