Patient Care Technician-PCT - ARU (PT 12hr/wk)

About the role

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Qualifications

• Experience: No prior experience required; candidates without experience will be considered for the Patient Care Associate (PCA) role, which includes a 175‑hour training program meeting Missouri DHSS requirements, to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred experience: EMT, Paramedic, or previous patient care experience (PCA, CNA, or active nursing student).
• Required education: High school diploma or GED; or CNA/CPCT; or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum; or age 18 and able to participate in Mercy’s UAP training program; or current Mercy coworker.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within one month of hire; completion of PCT competencies within three months of hire.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state
