About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role is essential in promoting patient comfort, safety, and dignity while ensuring a clean, organized, and responsive care environment. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by performing activities of daily living, vital signs, point of care testing, skin care and assist with cardiac monitoring under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Document and communicate effectively by accurately recording care and observations in the clinical system and relaying patient information to the healthcare team in a timely manner.
• Perform clerical/secretarial functions (e.g. answering the phone, arranging external transport, patient record preparation/assembly, filing, entering charges, contacting physicians, maintaining logs, scheduling tests and requests for services from other departments).
• Train and support new staff, demonstrating professionalism, and adapting to changing unit needs.
• Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Licenses: None
• Experience: None
• Certifications: BLS within 90 days of hire
